Heat pump grants and who qualifies

Grant eligibility depends on your existing heating system, household income and the exact equipment selected. We identify the programs that may apply and provide the installation documents, but the program administrator makes the final decision.

LogisVert
Hydro-Québec
$120 per 1,000 BTU/h

For cold-climate ENERGY STAR heat pumps, up to $6,700 ($50 per 1,000 BTU/h for other ENERGY STAR models). See Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert page. Available for the purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump. The amount depends on the exact indoor and outdoor equipment combination and its eligible heating capacity.

  • The equipment must appear on the LogisVert eligibility list.
  • Installation must be completed by a qualified contractor.
  • The application must be submitted within nine months of installation.
  • The customer pays for the installation and receives the approved grant afterward.

LogisVert is not limited to replacing electric baseboards or an electric furnace, and there is no separate universal $2,000 limit for ductless systems.

Dual energy
Énergir and Hydro-Québec
Up to $7,400

Available to eligible Énergir customers converting an existing natural-gas heating system to dual energy. The heat pump operates during milder weather, and natural gas takes over below the program’s changeover temperature.

  • The home must have an eligible natural-gas central heating system.
  • The project must meet Énergir’s equipment and control requirements.
  • Assistance can cover up to 80% of the additional conversion cost.
  • Eligible homes move to the applicable dual-energy electricity rate.
Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program
Government of Canada

The federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program closed to new applications in Quebec on July 31, 2026. If you applied before the deadline, refer to your application for the remaining requirements and completion dates.

Rénoclimat
Government of Quebec
For eligible home-efficiency improvements

Rénoclimat no longer provides financial assistance for installing or replacing a heating system. It may provide separate assistance for insulation, air sealing, doors, windows and certain ventilation work.

  • A pre-retrofit energy evaluation is required before work begins.
  • A post-retrofit evaluation is required after completion.
  • Assistance depends on the improvements completed and the resulting energy performance.
  • Rénoclimat does not reduce the price of the heat pump itself.

How the application process works

  1. We identify possible programs

We review the existing heating system, proposed equipment and available program requirements when preparing the quote.

  2. You submit the application

The customer submits the application. Only the program administrator can confirm eligibility and approve the final amount.

  3. We provide the installation documents

We supply the invoice, equipment information, RBQ details and proof of installation required for the application.

Program details depend on the equipment installed and on the house meeting each program’s conditions. Program rules change without much notice; our team will confirm what is current when you book. Nothing here replaces an assessment of your home on site.
