What affects the installation cost?
Equipment selection
System size, efficiency, operating sound and features all influence the price. We explain the differences between suitable models so you can choose based on your needs and budget.
Electrical requirements
We review the electrical requirements of the proposed equipment. Some installations require circuit changes or an electrical service upgrade, while others can use the existing capacity.
Ductwork and airflow
For central systems, we assess the existing ductwork and connections. Any recommended modifications are explained as part of the installation proposal.
Equipment location and access
The distance between indoor and outdoor equipment, piping routes, mounting arrangements and access to the work area can affect installation costs.
Removal of existing equipment
Replacing an older system may involve additional removal work. For an oil conversion, this can include the furnace and oil tank. Your quote will clarify what is included and whether separate arrangements are needed.
Rebates for eligible equipment
Hydro-Québec LogisVert
LogisVert offers financial assistance for eligible heat pump installations, at $120 per 1,000 BTU/h for cold-climate heat pumps, up to $6,700. See Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert page. The amount depends on the selected model, its heating capacity and the applicable program requirements. We help you identify eligible equipment and review the available assistance when preparing your estimate.
Énergir dual energy
Eligible natural gas customers may qualify for assistance when adding a heat pump as part of a dual-energy heating system. Eligibility and amounts depend on the existing heating system and the proposed installation.
Federal oil-to-heat-pump assistance
The federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program closed to new applications in Quebec on July 31, 2026. If you applied before the deadline, refer to your application for the remaining requirements and completion dates.
Application documents

Comparing your options
Installation cost is one part of the decision. Comfort, operating costs, equipment condition and warranty coverage also matter. We explain the options without assuming that the most expensive system is the best fit.
If your existing furnace is compatible and in good condition, adding a heat pump may be an option. If both systems need replacing, we can quote a complete installation.
