Questions we get asked
A properly sized cold-climate system carries most of the winter on its own and hands off to backup heat on the coldest nights.
LogisVert pays $120 per 1,000 BTU/h for cold-climate heat pumps, up to $6,700. See Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert page. The amount depends on the eligible model, its heating capacity and the program requirements that apply to your installation. We help identify qualifying equipment and review the applicable rebate when preparing your estimate.
Keep it and go dual energy: the heat pump runs above the changeover point and the furnace covers the bottom. Énergir offers financial assistance of up to $7,400 for that conversion; the amount depends on the equipment and work involved.
The customer submits the application. JCD provides the invoice, equipment information and supporting installation documents.
Usually not. Heat pumps move more air than a furnace, so the fix is normally an undersized return rather than a full replacement.
On a stand clear of roof runoff, away from bedroom windows and your neighbour’s. Placement is settled at the quote visit, not on install day.
1 day for a standard installation.
We recommend seasonal service before summer and before winter for a heat pump that provides both heating and cooling. A visit may include coil cleaning, compressor and fan checks, refrigerant performance checks and defrost verification, with our findings and completed work documented in a service report with photos.
