Rules since December 31, 2023
Since December 31, 2023, an oil furnace cannot be replaced with another oil, natural-gas or propane appliance in affected residential buildings, and Chauffez vert closed to new applications on 31 March 2026. An existing gas furnace can generally be replaced with another gas furnace, and eligible customers may also consider an electric and natural-gas dual-energy system. Énergir launched its own dual-energy program on 1 April 2026; the assistance available varies with the equipment installed. We review the available options for your property before the quote, not after.
