What matters in a ductless installation
The equipment is only as good as its placement and design.
From assessment to operation
Every room and equipment location is planned before installation begins.
- 01
Home assessment
We review the rooms being conditioned, how they are used and the available locations for indoor and outdoor equipment.
- 02
System proposal
We recommend the appropriate single-zone or multi-zone system, show the proposed equipment locations and identify the estimated LogisVert assistance.
- 03
Installation
The indoor and outdoor units are mounted, refrigerant lines and drainage are installed, wall penetrations are sealed and the system is pressure tested and evacuated.
- 04
Setup and handover
We test the system, configure the controls, show you how to use and clean the equipment, register the warranty and provide the LogisVert documents.

Prices are before tax and grants and include standard installation, refrigerant lines, electrical connections, condensate drainage and system commissioning. Final pricing depends on equipment capacity, the number of indoor units, line length, electrical requirements and site conditions.
The LogisVert amount depends on the exact eligible equipment combination and its rated heating capacity. See Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert page. We provide the required installation documents, and the homeowner submits the application.
Questions we get asked
Yes. Cold-climate heat pumps are designed for Canadian winters, with certain models operating down to -30°C. We help you choose equipment suited to your home, with backup heating available when needed to keep you comfortable on the coldest days.
We review indoor and outdoor unit locations with you before installation, considering both appearance and performance. Piping is neatly routed and covered where appropriate, with placement chosen to keep the installation discreet and accessible for service.
Two smaller units often behave better than one large one, because a single compressor modulating for five heads runs poorly when only one zone calls. We price both.
Rebate programs may apply, depending on the eligible model, its heating capacity and the program requirements. The customer submits the application. JCD provides the invoice, equipment information and supporting installation documents.
Up to five on the multi-zone units we install, though three to four is the practical limit before capacity at peak load suffers.
To a drain or a condensate pump on the heads, and off the base pan on the outdoor unit. We add a pan heater so it does not freeze into a block.
Around 25 to 32 dB on low, quieter than a fridge. The outdoor unit is the one to think about for a neighbour’s window.
In most Montreal plexes it carries the main rooms and you keep a baseboard in the bathroom and any closed bedroom the head cannot reach.
