What kind of systems do you see most in Chomedey?

Chomedey's homes split between houses and apartments, so the systems do too. Single-detached houses, 24.5% of dwellings in the 2021 Census, typically have a forced-air furnace or a central heat pump. The larger share is apartments, many in buildings of 5 storeys or more, where equipment ranges from in-suite units to rooftop and building-wide systems. We repair all brands in either case.

JCD in Chomedey

Chomedey is Laval's most populous sector, with 94,030 residents in 2021, and two in three of its homes are apartments. Heating and cooling work here covers condo and rental buildings as much as houses: rooftop units, building-wide systems and ductless units added to individual suites. The Cité de Chomedey was formed in 1961 from L'Abord-à-Plouffe, Renaud and Saint-Martin, and the rivière des Prairies runs along its southern edge. JCD repairs and installs furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners and rooftop units in Chomedey.

Homes and buildings in Chomedey

In the 2021 Census, 24.5% of Chomedey's private dwellings were single-detached houses and 22.6% were in buildings of 5 storeys or more, against 9.8% for Laval as a whole. Renters hold 46.3% of its dwellings. A house usually has its own furnace or central unit. In an apartment building the system depends on the building, so we start by finding out who owns and maintains the equipment.

Before an outdoor unit goes in

Laval does not require a permit for a heat pump or air conditioner that meets the placement rules in articles 265 and 266 of its Code de l'urbanisme. Water-cooled air conditioners are prohibited, and a wrongly placed unit can bring a fine of $400 for an individual or $1,000 for a company. Check the placement with the City before installation; we size and place the unit to meet it.
